SPOKANE, Wash. -

It's the end of another school year... marking the 27th year KHQ and Eastern Washington University have partnered together to celebrate some of the region's best teachers through the Teacher of the Month program.

We'd like to take a look back at all those honored during the past school year. Thank you to the students who wrote their letters, allowing us to highlight these teachers for all their hard work.

KHQ is proud to honor the past year's teachers.... believing their knowledge and skills play a key role in our children's success in the future.

KHQ would like to thank not only those highlighted here in our Teacher of the Month celebration... but all the teachers for their hard work, dedication and commitment in all areas of education.

Eastern Washington University is proud to be continuing our 27-year partnership with KHQ recognizing all the outstanding teachers in the Inland Northwest.

Congratulations... from KHQ Local News and from Eastern Washington University.

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - An extensive effort to capture and kill non-native lake trout in Yellowstone Lake is showing progress with fewer of the invasive fish being found. Yellowstone National Park fisheries chief Todd Koel says so far this year about 155,000 lake trout have been caught, which is down 63,000 from this time last year. Koel tells the Jackson Hole News & Guide that it's a sign that the lake trout population is finally crashing.
