Inmate who stole Spokane County car during escape arrested

SPOKANE, Wash. -

Spokane police say they've caught the inmate who stole a Spokane County work truck from the Spokane County Fairgrounds earlier this week.

Deputy Mark Gregory told KHQ on July 7th that Devin B. Johnson was a 25-year-old Spokane County Detention Service Work Crew Inmate who stole a truck from the Spokane County Fairgrounds.  He was confined for a Domestic Violence Assault charge and a Harassment charge and assigned as part of the Work Crew. 

Johnson was booked into the Spokane County Jail Wednesday night for Theft of a Motor Vehicle and 3rd Degree Escape.

    The family of a Georgia Tech student killed by a campus police officer last year says it's going to sue the university.    WSB-TV reports Scout Schultz's father, Bill, says the family has waited long enough since the September shooting. The 21-year-old Schultz called 911 last year to report an armed suspicious person and was then killed by Officer Tyler Beck.    Beck has been on paid administrative leave since the shooting.

    Authorities say a Florida man set a woman on fire, leaving her in critical condition.    A Fort Myers police news release says officers arrested 39-year-old Terry Palmer on Tuesday and charged him with arson in the first degree and arson causing great bodily harm.    The victim's daughter told investigators Palmer and the woman had argued. Police say Palmer left and returned with flammable liquid to try to set the woman's house ablaze.
