OLDTOWN, Idaho -

Fire investigators are trying to determine what caused a motorhome fire that killed a toddler near Oldtown Tuesday night.

Bonner County Sheriff's deputies say the fire started around 8 p.m. on Hoodoo Loop. Deputies say an adult was inside the motorhome with the young girl at the time, but the fire started moments after the adult left to get something for the toddler.

Deputies believe an electrical problem started the fire, because they say there were several appliances running off of extension cords that were coming out of the motorhome.

Fire investigators are still trying to determine an exact cause of the fire. Deputies say if the fire was not caused by an electrical issue, then a more thorough investigation will follow, and criminal charges may be coming.

Detectives say they hope they will have the girl's autopsy results back by Wednesday afternoon.
