LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. -- F5 Networks Spokane held a 3-on-3 charity basketball tournament to raise money for the Rypien Foundation on Thursday afternoon.

Through donations the charity tournament raised $10,300, and with a company match an excess of $15,000 was raised for the Rypien Foundation, which will help local families who are battling childhood cancer.

More on the Rypien Foundation can be found here: http://rypienfoundation.org/

Rypien came to fame through his time as the starting quarterback at Washington State, and eventually winning Super Bowl XXVI and the Super Bowl MVP with the Washington Redskins. But few people know Rypien helped lead Shadle Park to a AAA state basketball championship in 1981 and still has some skills with the rock (which you can see in the slideshow above).
