ADDY, Wash. -

A Chewelah man has died after being shot with a bow and arrow Monday afternoon. The Stevens County Sheriff's Office reports deputies arrived on the scene at a house in the 1300 block of Highway 395 in Addy, Wash. around 2:30 p.m. They found 46-year-old Brian Brodie bleeding heavily from an apparent wound from an arrow. Brodie was not responsive and deputies attempted to save him until an ambulance arrived.

Brodie was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Chewelah and then flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He was pronounced dead just before 6:30 p.m. Monday evening after extensive life-saving efforts.

50-year-old Raymond Rudd, the homeowner, was taken into custody at the scene. Investigators believe Rudd and Brodie were involved in some kind of argument and Rudd shot Brodie with a bow and arrow.

Rudd was booked into Stevens County Jail on charges of first degree murder.
