Support victims of Umpqua Community College shooting

ROSEBURG, Ore. -

Nine people were killed and more than a dozen others were injured in a mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg Oregon. Authorities say Chris Harper-Mercer, the shooter behind the deadly rampage, targeted Christians in his attack. He would ask if the person was a Christian, if they responded yes, he shot them in the head, if they responded "no," he shot them in the abdomen or the leg, but many victims were shot multiple times.

Harper-Mercer then committed suicide after exchanging gunfire with officers, according to Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin.

Go Fund Me pages have been set up for some of the victims for both medical expenses and funeral costs.

"My cousin Chris Mintz was shot 7 times while trying to protect others from the gunman at Umpqua Community College. He is a father, a veteran, a student, and now he's a hero. During the shooting both of his legs were broken and he is going to have to go through a ton of physical therapy.
While Chris is not the type of person to ask for it, he is going to need all of the help he can get while he recovers!
Myself and many family members have been swamped with requests for us to setup a gofundme page, so this is us fulfilling that request and we appreciate your concerns and assistance.

Thank You,
Family of Chris Mintz"

"Hello,  My name is Maryanne Weeks I am from Texas and an Aunt of Rebecca Prinz (Fiance of Nathan Carnes) Nathan is the father of "Rebecka Carnes"  (One of the innocent victims of the horrific and senseless shooting at UCC Oregon.)  I have set up this campaign on their behalf and with their permission.   This campaign is seeking donations from our family, friends, and anyone who is wishing to help them cover funeral expenses and set up a scholarship in memory of this amazing and beautiful young lady.

I am a Christian with a very strong faith and was so deeply moved in hearing this courageous saint stood up and died for Christ.  Rest assured she is being cherished by him in her beautiful new home."

Ana Boylan: https://www.gofundme.com/645hpwak

"Update from Ana's dad:
I want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers in what has been the most frightening event in my families lives. My daughter is recovering very well physically, but the memory of this event will always be with us. My heart breaks for those who lost loved ones. Again, your continued love and support is very appreciated. Ana sends her deepest thanks to everyone.
For those who are interested, Ana will be speaking her heart on ABC Good Morning America, Monday morning at 7am PST. She chose this venue to express what she felt and feels after surviving what I will only call as evil.
She continues to move forward, and the interview really jump started her emotional healing. The things she says make me so proud and grateful to have such a brilliant young light that still shines in my life.I have been brought low, by this event, and she gives me strength. My greatest hope is that no one would ever have to experience this. But sadly, I know this isnt the last.
Parents, hold your children. Tell them you love them, everday. Teach them how to protect themselves.
My deepest hurt, I wasnt there to protect and defend my baby. But I believe, what I could not do, the Lord was able.
I dont know why Ana was spared, and others taken. I have no answer. But I am ever so grateful.
Thank you all for your kindness and support. My love to you all."

Cheyeanne Fitzgerald: https://www.gofundme.com/vh5hy89w

"My cousin, Cheyeanne Fitzgerald, 16, started her college career early this year at Umpqua Community College. She is looking forward to a career in nursing. The unspeakable happened on October 1st at UCC. Chey started her day by grabbing a coffee on her way to class and texting her mom saying she loved her, and to have a beautiful day. God was looking over her that day as she was shot but now is recovering in ICU at Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg, Oregon. She has a long recovery ahead in both physically and mentally. Your prayers for our family would be greatly appreciated, as well as any contributions."

Julie Woodworth: https://www.gofundme.com/pq5g36mg

"This beautiful girl I have been friends with since middle school was injured in the tragic UCC shooting in Roseburg Oregon.
Julie is one of the sweetest, most down to earth people I know. She would never hurt anyone or anything. She always wants to learn and grow. She always tries being optimistic. So I know she will make it through this like the champion she is.
She was shot not once, but ten times. she was shot in the head, knees, and arms.  She had surgery  a couple times already, and more is to be expected. As well as rehabilitation.
she has made progress. She opened her eyes and responded to her name. That's a huge step in the right direction!
As we all know, medical bills can be extremely expensive. Donations would be greatly appreciated."

Amber McMurtrey: https://www.gofundme.com/xd569d7w

"My aunt Amber McMurtrey, 34,was involved in the UCC shooting and is currently in the hospital. She was shot 8 times, 6 times in the arm and twice in the torso. The medical bills will be too much for her and her family, so I've decided to make her a gofundme. It is the least I can do for her and her family. She has two little girls at home ages 5 and 7.  She  went back to school this year in order to provide for her family better while pursuing a nursing degree. Amber has lived in Oregon her whole life and she moved down to Roseburg when she got married. I will be getting the donations to her as soon as possible. Anything helps, God bless. -Mcmurtrey/Chane family"
