SPOKANE, Wash. -

Saturday, people are drinking one for Jamie.

“Jamie’s been a customer for years and she would come through almost every day,” says Aleesha Judd, an employee at Hot Toddy’s.

Hot Toddy’s employees found out she had cancer.

“We kind of just lived the whole cancer story with her and every good positive thing that happened or bad thing that happened,” Judd says.

They planned this event to help with her medical costs, but Jamie passed away on Monday, earlier than they expected, leaving behind her 11-year-old daughter. This was the way employees felt like they could give back to someone they called a friend.

“They just had the biggest hearts I’ve ever seen no matter how down she got she never showed it, especially to her daughter,” Judd says.

Even customers are driving up support.

“I don't know her but it really touched my heart and cancer is just a horrible thing and she left behind a beautiful daughter so anything I can do to help a great cause I’ll do it,” says Ezzie Stubblefield, a regular at Hot Toddy’s.

The special of the day was the hazelnut mocha Jamie ordered daily.

“It’s just amazing how something can spread so crazy.” Judd says. “We had people come from Liberty Lake just for Jamie. It’s pretty amazing.”

All proceeds from Saturday are going back to Jamie’s family to help with funeral costs and other costs.
