POST FALLS, Idaho -

Post Falls Police are looking for a man witnesses say tried to lure a group of kids over to his pickup by showing them a puppy.

“My five- and seven-year-old were out playing by the tree right here,” says Alexandrea Devries.

Alexandrea was watching over her daughters Loralei and Camillea while they waited for the school bus. She saw the dark grey Dodge pickup park in front of her mailboxes, which is also where the school bus stops.

“As soon as my kids crossed the small little alleyway and started climbing the trees in the next yard…he stayed on this side of the road and he slowly drove up past those white mailboxes, parked right there,” she says.

That's when she called the kids back to her yard. Her daughter, Loralei, told her the man showed a puppy from his truck.

“And I said Lorelai, you need to understand and you don't know who they are, you tell your parents what is going on,” she says.

Alexandrea is thankful she was outside.

“If it wasn't my kids, it could've been somebody else's,” she says. “Even if it means you got to be five minutes late for work to make sure that your kids get on the bus because this is happening everywhere…we need to start making sure we're keeping an eye on everything.”

She’s just glad her kids are safe.

“Trust me, I'm going to be making sure. My kids are everything to me. Make sure I got my five-year-old inside and I'll be going over it with her. I hope other parents do the same.”

Police describe the truck as a dark grey extended cab Dodge with standard tires and the man is said to be between 30 and 40 years of age with dark, wavy hair and thick glasses.

If you have any information, you can call Post Falls Police at 208-773-3517.
