An arson investigation is underway after a suspicious car fire in a Post Falls parking lot over the weekend.

Post Falls Police say witnesses reported seeing a man wearing all black and a ski mask bust out the driver side window of a car and throw something inside. Moments later, the car was engulfed in flames. Witnesses said after throwing something in the car, the suspect got into a newer model red Nissan Altima and drove off. No injuries were reported.

Police say the Kootenai County Fire Department is now conducting an arson investigation.
