AMBER Alert cancelled; children found safe

PASCO, Wash. -

Police issued an AMBER Alert Monday evening for two little girls last seen in Pasco, but a short time later, the alert was cancelled when police found the children unharmed.

Police reported the 3-year-old and 1-year-old Hispanic girls were reported missing from Jay St. in Pasco around 5 p.m. Monday evening. The girls were inside a gray Honda Civic when it was stolen.

Just before 8:30 p.m. the AMBER Alert was cancelled. The two girls were found still inside the Civic, which had been abandoned. A suspect in the theft has not been tracked down.

The children were unharmed.

Police are still looking for the suspect in the car theft. Anyone with information is asked to call Pasco Police at 545-3421 or 545-3510 and reference case number PP15-47455.

The Vermont-based group Purple Hearts Reunited says a Vermont man found the medal in his father's collection of flea market purchases.
