Reward offered in golf course damage case

HAYDEN, Idaho -

The Avondale Golf Club is offering a reward for anyone with information about who may have damaged the course in Hayden, Idaho, last month.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office says a person or people intentionally drove a vehicle onto the No. 6 green on the course between November 18 at 5:30 p.m. and November 19 at 8 a.m. The vehicle caused about $6,000 in damage.

The golf course is offering a $500 reword for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for malicious injury to their property.

If you have any information regarding the case, contact the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office Detective Division at 208-446-2237 and reference case number #15-32854.

(AP) - Authorities say a Northern California firefighter was mauled in the face by a pit bull after helping extinguish a house fire.    The East Bay Times reports Alameda County Fire Battalion Chief John Whiting received "extremely severe facial damage" in the attack Saturday in San Leandro.    Division Chief Alan Evans says Whiting required extensive reconstructive surgery.
