OLYMPIA, Wash. -

The Washington Department of Corrections confirmed Monday that two offenders released from prison prior to their actual release date allegedly committed new crimes during the time they should have been in prison. The DOC continues to review records for any additional offenders who may have committed new crimes.

DOC and law enforcement officers are still searching for one of the two offenders. The department says the offender did serve his sanctioned time for the new offense of attempt to elude law enforcement, due to the miscalculation, he will need to complete his full prison term for his original offense, which was assault.

The other offender was identified as Robert Jackson. He was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide in November and is currently in custody. Jackson was released from prison on August 10 and was under DOC supervision. His correct release date should have been December 6. He was arrested for a crash that killed Lindsay Hill of Bellvue on November 11, 2015.

DOC Secretary Dan Pacholke offered his deepest condolences to Hill's family on Sunday.

“Nothing I can say will bring back Ms. Hill. I deeply regret that this happened,” Pacholke said. “On behalf of the Department of Corrections, I apologize.”
