SPOKANE, Wash. -

Spokane Police released body camera footage Wednesday morning showing the vantage point officers had when they responded to a call of a man armed with a knife breaking into cars last November.

On November 7, 2015 Spokane Police received numerous calls about a man who was walking in the middle of Division Street near Cataldo, armed with a knife and trying to get into people's cars. Footage released of the shooting on Wednesday shows when officers responded, 22-year-old Tyler Randant was in the middle of the road, armed with a knife before he ran to a nearby gas station.

Witnesses recount police shooting on Division

Body camera footage shows Randant standing next to a green SUV parked at a gas pump still holding the knife and ignoring commands from officers to drop it. Finally two officers fired shots and Randant dropped to the ground. After disarming him, police took Randant into custody while providing him with first-aid. While receiving medical attention, Randant can be heard telling officers "kill me" as they try to calm him down.

After receiving medical treatment at the hospital, Randant was booked  into the Spokane County Jail on a charge of first-degree robbery and second-degree assault charges.
