SPOKANE, Wash. -

A man in his mid twenties was found dead in an East Spokane Home Wednesday morning. The discovery launched a large police response.

It happened near Pittsburg Street and 1st Avenue. KHQ"s Hayley Guenthner learned police are looking into whether or not the death is connected to what appears to be a series of deadly overdoses that killed three people last week.

Officer Teresa Fuller said detectives continue to investigate. She adds the department is waiting on additional information from the medical examiner before they can comment further.

Neighbors believe the house in question was being occupied by squatters.

"They are everywhere," said one neighbor. "Any vacant house, they are in them."

While we still don't know the circumstances behind this death, neighbors do suspect the home is a hot spot for drugs. SPD's best are working to see if this case is connected to the others.

"It is suspicious," said Fuller. "That's why we're here."

The major crimes unit was at the same home a little more than a year ago investigating a brutal attempted murder.
