TACOMA, Wash. -

A former Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldier accused of fatally shooting his wife in 2014 has been sentenced to more than 13 years in prison.

KOMO-TV reports 21-year-old Skylar Nemetz was sentenced Friday for the death of Tarrah "Danielle" Nemetz.

The 19-year-old woman was shot in the back of the head as she sat at a computer in the couple's Lakewood, Washington, apartment.

Prosecutors allege Nemetz shot his wife because he thought she had been unfaithful while he was on a training operation. Nemetz and his attorney say the AR-15 rifle went off while he was clearing the chamber.

Nemetz was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter earlier this month after jurors deliberated for more than a week. They went with the lesser charge that had been argued for by Nemetz's attorneys.

NOT in a microwave. For this reason a new prank-challenge going around on Facebook is resulting in some hilarious text conversations between mothers and their grown children.
