COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -

Pastor Tim Remington, who was shot eight times in the parking lot of the Altar Church earlier this month sent a special surprise message to his congregation during Easter services Sunday morning.

Altar Church played the brief video message for church-goers Sunday. In it, he thanked everyone for their continued support. KHQ's Katie Chen reports parishioners wrote notes and messages to Pastor Remington's wife, Cindy, during the service.

Wish Pastor Tim well by signing our guestbook

Pastor Remington was released from the hospital on Friday. Easter Sunday marks three weeks since he was shot in the back multiple times by a man hiding in his car waiting for Remington to leave the church. Police believe that person to be Kyle Odom

Odom went on the run following the shooting before being arrested by Secret Service in Washington, D.C. for throwing things over the White House fence. He's currently in jail there awaiting an extradition hearing.
