SPOKANE, Wash. -

A Spokane County man is calling a Towner & Towner employee his good luck charm after winning $180,000 on a scratch Lottery ticket.

Alvin Hanes, a longtime Spokane resident, bought the winning ticket at Towner & Towner on North Ash Street. Hanes calls the employee that he brought the ticket from his "lucky guy", because every time Hanes buys a ticket from him, he tends to win.

Hanes says after he realized he won, he ran back into the store to show his "lucky guy" the prize. Hanes and the other employees then started celebrating right there in front of the cash register.

“I was still in shock after I scratched the game and saw I was a winner,” Hanes said. “My ‘lucky guy’ and I always tease each other about him being lucky, but I guess he really is now!”

Hanes told Lottery officials this win will help him save up enough cash to buy a house. His other plans include using the winnings to take his grandkids to Yellowstone National Park this summer.

NOT in a microwave. For this reason a new prank-challenge going around on Facebook is resulting in some hilarious text conversations between mothers and their grown children.

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. - Officials in an Alabama county have a financial mess to wipe up after the sheriff's department mistakenly ordered 24,000 extra rolls of toilet paper. WAFF-TV reports the Marshall County Sheriff's Office mistakenly spent $22,000 on toilet paper and another $9,000 for 450 cases of trash bags. That's a big problem, because its entire budget for janitorial supplies for next year is only $15,000.
