Woman arrested after ramming Spokane patrol car with stolen truck

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. -

Spokane police arrested a 27-year-old woman Saturday afternoon after she rammed a patrol car while driving a stolen truck. She drove away from the scene before abandoning the truck and running away on foot. Officers found her nearby and took her into custody.

It all started around 1:15 p.m. when officers arrived at an apartment complex to investigate a tip of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot near the 2100 block of E. North Crescent. They found the woman, identified as Lacy Drake asleep in the driver's seat with her dog. When officers woke her up and she realized they were police, she immediately turned on the engine and rammed the parked patrol car with enough force to push it backward before she took off out of the parking lot.

The officers were not injured.

Other officers found the stolen truck near Illinois and Center minutes later, abandoned. Police searched the area and found Drake a few blocks away.

She was booked into jail on several charges including two counts of attempted second degree assault, first degree malicious mischief, attempting to elude and possession of a stolen vehicle. Police are investigating additional items found in the truck and additional charges could be forthcoming.
