Hot Clicks: Never-before-seen performance by Prince at SNL40 after party

KHQ.COM - -

Jimmy Fallon was clearly emotional presenting a monologue on Saturday Night Live, reflecting on one of the most iconic superstars of all time, Prince, after his unexpected death rocked the world.

On the show he gave a teary-eyed introduction to a video montage of all the times Prince performed on the show over the years and ended with a never-before-seen clip of Prince performing at the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary after party in 2015.

"Prince has been a special presence here at Saturday Night Live for the last four decades. From his debut on the show as a 22-year-old in 1981, to his surprise performance at the after party for the SNL 40th anniversary, and I'll talk more about that later. Tonight we wanted to pay tribute to him by looking back at his performances on the show over the years and by remembering what he meant to us, it was a lot.

Other people may have been on the show more times or performed more frequently but there was always something different about a Prince performance. It was special, it was an event. It was Prince!

Times have changed, styles have come and gone but no matter what, Prince has never not been cool. I mean, from my generation and our generation, it was Prince, Madonna and Michael Jackson. They were the Elvis and Beatles, the Marilyn Monroe, the James Dean, they were icons. Bigger, larger than life... fashion, music, every single thing, you couldn't take your eyes off of them. I mean he had his own color. Who has their own color? He owns purple. You can't just pick a color and go, 'that's my thing!'

The guy was just amazing. When you see these performances every single one of them, it's just electrical. He lived his music, it just came through him. And if you don't know all of his work, tonight is just going to be a treat for you guys. And we have an exclusive video from the after party that's never been shown anywhere. We'd like to show that to you too just to see how much he's just... he's Prince."

In the never-before-seen clip, keep an eye out for stars like Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph and Jimmy Fallon singing back-up for Prince. You can also spot Jim Carey in the crowd briefly.

Apparently this performance took place at about 4:30 in the morning. Fallon said he been trying to get performers like Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift on stage and then finally called Prince out saying, "Prince, if you're in the room, I dare you to come up and say something with us."

Fallon said that was the last time he ever saw the star.

SPOKANE, Wash. - It's been an incredibly difficult couple of months for Kaley Hilderbrand and her family. "We're in the middle of moving from an apartment to a house," Hilderbrand said.  It's not something the mom of a brand new baby girl though she would be doing. Back in April, the soon-to-be-married mother of three was living in a north Spokane apartment complex when she received an angry letter about doing laundry at night.
