EVERETT, Wash. -

An Edmonds man has pleaded not guilty to assaulting his roommate with a spiked baseball bat.

Ryan McCoy pleaded not guilty to domestic violence assault with a deadly weapon. He remains in jail on $150,000 bail.

McCoy is accused of beating his roommate after they argued over a coin jar on March 23. The man told police McCoy charged into his room with the weapon. The man said he pushed McCoy before he was attacked.

The Daily Herald reports the victim suffered a fractured skull, broken nose and brain bleeding.

McCoy's mother reportedly told police he had been using methamphetamine and told her he didn't like the way their roommate spoke to him.

Police allegedly found multiple homemade weapons in McCoy's bedroom, including a makeshift shotgun and more spiked bats and clubs.
