Petition to boycott Target over bathroom policy gains 600,000 signatures

What do you think of Target's bathroom policy? What do you think of Target's bathroom policy?
KHQ.com -

Retail giant Target is taking a stand on the transgender bathroom controversy playing out across the nation.

Target said last week that transgender customers can use restrooms corresponding to their gender identity. It's the latest corporate reaction to laws slammed by critics as being anti-LGBT. Several states have weighed measures forcing people to use restrooms according to the gender on their birth certificates. In a statement on its website, Target wrote, "[W]e welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity."

But Target's stance has attracted plenty of backlash. A petition launched Wednesday by the American Family Association has garnered some 600,000 signatures. A statement with the petition fires back at Target's announcement saying, "Target's policy is exactly how sexual predators get access to their victims. And with Target publicly boasting that men can enter women's bathrooms, where do you think predators are going to go?"

Since the petition was posted, it's gathered over 600,000 signatures.

What do you think?  Is Target's policy more inclusive or does it encourage sexual predators?

NOT in a microwave. For this reason a new prank-challenge going around on Facebook is resulting in some hilarious text conversations between mothers and their grown children.
