Trump backers ready for Spokane visit

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. -

It's hard to deny Donald Trump is a controversial figure. Look no further than our Facebook page for that. There are hundreds of comments, some positive, some negative saying he's racist, sexist and homophobic.

But one Spokane woman has been a Trump supporter since day one.

"I feel that he speaks what a lot of Americans feel and are afraid to say," said Amanda Turnidge.

She's hoping for clarity from Saturday's rally. "I want to hear straight from his mouth, not what the news is saying."

She thinks Trump is the right fit for America.

Some have called him sexist but for Turnidge, "It's words, you just kind of let that stuff go."

KHQ read some quotes from Trump that some would find offensive to see what she would think. One of the quotes from Trump: "Look at that face, would anyone vote for that?"

"OK so he's not nice, he's just a blunt guy, I don't think that he has a filter," said Turnidge.

It doesn't shake her faith. She's just excited to see him on Saturday.

Trump will hold a rally in Spokane this Saturday at the Spokane Convention Center.

Trump's campaign website announced the rally will start at noon Saturday and doors will open at 9 a.m. Tickets are available on Trump's website.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Coeur d'Alene Police are investigating a reported school shooting threat at Coeur d'Alene High School. Police tell us that while they are still investigating whether the threat is credible, they do not believe the CHS that the note mentions is referring to Coeur d'Alene High School.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Officials at the University of Kansas Cancer Center are searching for their stolen colon. They don't know why someone would steal an inflatable model used to teach people about the dangers of colon cancer, they just want it back. The model, valued at $4,000, was taken from the bed of a pickup truck parked in the Brookside area of Kansas City.
