Rallies are a chance for people to show their support for their candidate, but it’s also a chance for younger citizens to learn about the political process.

It was the Holdway family’s first time at a rally.

“It’s something different. It's something we've never done,” says Jim Holdway.

They say they came partly because they wanted to learn more about presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.

He talked about a variety of issues and asserted that he would grow America.

“We got here through strength,” Trump says. “We didn't get here through weakness. We want strong borders. We want a strong military.”

Holdway says Trump had been his choice.

“I've always been kind of inspired by him anyway as a business person just as a human being,” he says.

But this is also an opportunity for his kids to learn something outside of the classroom.

“I hope that my kids have enough of a choice or understanding that they can make a choice of their own and this is a way to expose them to that,” Holdway says.

But most of all, he hopes his family enjoys it.

“This is kind of a once in a lifetime experience because we could be seeing the President of the United States, possibly, and most people don't get to do that,” Holdway says.

Trump encouraged everyone to get out and vote by May 24, the presidential primary.

"It was a happy day," said Paul's aunt Georgine Glatt.
