MOSCOW, Idaho -

John Lee, the man who pleaded guilty to murdering three people, including his own adoptive mother, will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Lee received a fixed life sentence for all three counts of 1st Degree Murder, and an additional 15 years for Aggravated Battery.

John Lee changed his plea to guilty two months ago on three counts of 1st Degree Murder and one count of !st Degree Aggravated Battery. At his hearing back in March, Lee gave the chronological events that happened in July 2015, beginning with the murder of his adoptive mother, Terry Grzebielski, then David Trail and Michael Chin (Chin survived) and then Arby's Manager Belinda Niebuhr.

"I guess I'm in a weird situation, but my attorney told me this is the best deal and he told me to tell the truth," Lee said at his hearing two months ago.

While describing the shootings, Lee said ""I was paranoid, I thought people were out to get me, I felt like people were watching me... "I thought maybe my parents were trying to poison me. I felt like I lost control."

Lee's defense attorney asked the judge to make him eligible for parole after only 15 years, saying he did what he did because he has a "diseased brain."

The court heard emotional testimony from the families of Lee's victims, but Lee said he did not want to address the court.
