BLANCHARD, Idaho -

Patrick Geaudreau talked to KHQ's Liz Burch Friday, following his capture in North Idaho. He's a man realizing it may be months, even years before he sees his kids again.

Geaudreau said he was at home sleeping when a deputy's car was shot multiple times.

"I wasn't the one who shot at cops," he said. "I wasn't the one who did any of this."

Since the shooting, he also denies choking his girlfriend - but court documents say otherwise.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Geaudreau threatened to kill her, and drove her into the mountains before beating her with brass knuckles.

The documents also say that he broke her phone so she couldn't call 911, then dragged her on the ground by her hair when she tried to escape.

Geaudreau denies it all, and now he says he only wants one thing: "I just want to go home."

As of Friday evening Geaudreau was being held on a $220,000 bail.

Geaudreau was taken into custody on Wednesday during a traffic stop.

Police initially sought Geaudreau on a warrant for aggravated battery, first-degree kidnapping and attempted strangulation.

Police say he was a passenger in a vehicle that on May 9 fled a traffic stop in Idaho and entered Washington state. Authorities say Geaudreau fired at a pursuing Bonner County Sheriff's deputy, who wasn't injured.

Authorities in Washington are investigating the reported shooting, and charges have not been filed.
