COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -

One mother of a Coeur d'Alene middle schooler says she's very upset after she claims a high school "mentor" showed her daughter where to have sex and do drugs at Lake City High School. The mom asked not to be identified, but she says she knew something was wrong when her middle schooler told her she needed to talk to her after school yesterday.

"They started walking around...she told the children this where you can hide and have sex," the mother explained.

She says the mentor also told them places where they could go to smoke marijuana.

A statement from the school district said the student leading that tour group used "poor judgment,"  but that doesn't represent the school.

"We found out that one of the HS mentors used poor judgment and shared inappropriately about where kids “go to smoke” with several of the 8th graders.  This is unacceptable behavior.  This one student’s moment of poor judgment does not represent the incredible student population that embodies the Timberwolf family spirit.  Principal Deanne Clifford is addressing this situation and is personally reaching out to the parents of the students involved.  We will continue to research this situation," the statement read in part.

They say they're working to revisit how mentors are trained in the future so this doesn't happen again, and that they've never had an issue with the program for the twenty years it's run. But the mom says what her daughter told her makes me nervous to send her daughter to high school next year.
