New York -

Ever wonder what it's like to be a police dog? The New York City Police Department recently strapped a GoPro camera to one of its K9s to help us answer that question.

The video posted to the Department's Facebook page on Friday with the hashtag #ZaneCam gives you a dog's-eye-view of the Big Apple courtesy of K9 Zane. Zane works as a transit K9. It shows K9 Zane and his handler scoping out Grand Central Station, riding on subway cars, saying hello to passersby including some soldiers, blowing off steam and taking an afternoon nap.

Since it's been posted, the short video has almost 300,000 views and 4,000 shares.

No word yet on whether SPD K9 Zeus or K9 Cruz will be wearing a camera on duty, but we think it would be pretty cool.

A baby born near the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Michael spent his first night outside a hospital in a Walmart parking lot because no better shelter was available.  Wilmer Capps says he and wife Lorrainda Smith had no choice but to camp out at the store the night their son Luke was released from an Alabama hospital because their home in Panama City, Florida, was badly damaged by the storm.
