Mysterious trailer concerns Spokane Valley neighbors

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. -

Neighbors in a Spokane Valley apartment complex are trying to solve a mystery sitting at their front door – what to do with a trailer they believe was stolen.

“Just dropped it off like he knew what he was doing,” says Robert who saw what happened on Thursday.

“At first I thought maybe it was someone moving out or moving in or something but the entire time I was looking at him and he just wouldn't look at me and kept putting his arm up so I couldn't get a look at him,” Robert says.

The next morning, Robert saw the trailer still there and called Crime Check to report it. It's locked shut. There's no license plate, no visible VIN, and markings on the trailer are covered.

“I would like it to go away. I don't know who the people are. I have no idea what's in there,” he says.

Robert thinks it's stolen.

“If it belongs to somebody and their personal stuff is in there I'd like to see them get it back,” he says. “I don't know if that's what's happening but I would certainly like to see it be removed from here.”

Neighbors say police haven’t gotten a report of it being stolen, but they do have the report they made on file now. If an abandoned car is parked on private property, it is up to the property owner to deal with it. If it’s on the street, or public property, you can contact the city to see what can be done.

This is also a reminder to make sure you have the serial numbers for your items in case they are stolen.
