SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -

Thursday afternoon, Carman Trost and her boyfriend were leaving the Sativa Sisters pot shop on East Trent Avenue, and as they were getting in their truck, they noticed something that shocked them.

A newborn baby was alone in the back seat of a car - and the car was unlocked and running.

Carmen immediately went back inside the shop, in search of the parents. She asked everyone inside the shop who was responsible, and the parents told her to mind her own business.

Thinking quickly, Carmen used her phone to snap photos of the car, its license plate, and the baby left alone in the car. Then, she called 911.

The couple took off before deputies arrived, but thanks to the pictures she took, deputies have a description of the parents, their car, and even their license plate number.

Carman said she was just doing the right thing, and she is now hoping the parents of the newborn are found before something worse happens.

US eyes military bases for coal, gas exports

    Monday, October 15 2018 9:57 AM EDT2018-10-15 13:57:02 GMT

BILLINGS, Mont. - The Trump administration is considering using West Coast military bases or other federal properties as transit points for shipments of U.S. coal and natural gas to Asia. The proposal would advance the administration's agenda of establishing American "energy dominance" on the world stage. It's tantamount to an end-run around West Coast officials who have rejected private-sector efforts to build new coal ports.
