Idaho Democrats are considering abandoning their presidential caucus in favor of a primary.
    
The Idaho Statesman reports that delegates on Saturday approved a resolution endorsing the switch at the party's state convention and instructed the state committee to explore options for a selection process on par with a primary.
    
The move toward an election format change comes after huge turnout at the party's March caucus caused significant delays and other logistical problems. More than 9,000 people came to the Ada County venue and after up to two-hour delays to enter the caucus, hundreds of people left without casting a vote.
    
Idaho Republicans switched to a primary format this year after pushing through the Legislature a move to hold a stand-alone presidential primary in March.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Jim Martin Trucking LLC out of Hayden, Idaho confirmed with KHQ the driver of the semi-truck involved in Wednesday's crash on I-90 in downtown Spokane is okay and is cooperating with Troopers. The driver, who was hauling crushed cars, says he was cut off by another car, which he says started the chain reaction that caused the crash.

    MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Police in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina say a 12-year-old-boy is alive after being trapped underwater for nine minutes. A video obtained by NBC News shows the boy and his friend swimming around the lazy river at a resort. They removed a metal grate on the floor. The boy was swimming down to explore the hole when his leg became stuck. His friend and several adults tried to get him out, but were unsuccessful.

Superior Fire Chief Steve Panger says six people were taken to hospitals in Duluth, Minnesota. He doesn't know the extent of their injuries. Others were walking wounded. There are no known fatalities.

    NAMPA, Idaho (AP) - A driver accused of intentionally hitting and killing young Idaho newlyweds holding hands on a sidewalk has pleaded not guilty.   The Idaho Press-Tribune reports 37-year-old Jason Verwer entered his not guilty plea Friday to two counts of second-degree murder.   Authorities say 22-year-old Matthew Parkinson and 17-year-old Amelia Parkinson were killed in late January while walking along a road in Fruitland.
