SPOKANE, Wash. -

Spokane firefighters responded to a fire that sent a large smoke plume into the sky Monday evening.

The fire broke out around 6:15 p.m. Crews on scene say the fire scorched three garages and the back of a house in the area of Nettleton and Gardner. A power pole also caught fire, prompting fire crews, working together with Avista, to cut power to the area.

Crews were able to put the fire out after about an hour.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
