SEE IT: 'Big Idaho Potato' in town for a few days

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. -

Residents in the Spokane area have an opportunity over the next couple of days to check out the Big Idaho Potato Truck as it makes its way across the country the fifth time.

The tour started in 2012 as a one-year campaign to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Idaho Potato Commission. The truck travels across the country promoting the Idaho potatoes and features a 6-Ton potato!. The Big Idaho Potato truck says the tater would take 10,000 years to grow and is the equivalent of 32,346 medium-sized potatoes.

Want to bake it? It would take 2 years and 9 months (and a lot of butter and bacon bits) to make.

And if you wanted to make french fries, you could expect to get around 1.5 million out of it.

If you want to see it in person, it will be at these locations over the next couple of days:

  • June 23: ROSAUERS 2610 E. 29TH SPOKANE, WA 9923 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
