A cat is recovering after being shot with an arrow last month.

According to Pawsitive Outreach Spay/Neuter Alliance, Bella the cat was found with an arrow sticking out of her just a few blocks from the 5-mile shopping center recently.

Bella was only hours away from being sent to a kill shelter when she was adopted by a foster family for the shelter, but accidentally got out one night when a door was left open. Bella was eventually found under the porch of a neighbor's house with an arrow sticking out of her. The shelter says she was shot with a compound hunting bow, or at point blank range. Amazingly, no vital organs were hit and the arrow was removed.

Bella's vet bills have already surpassed $1000 and she still has a long road ahead of her. The shelter has set up a fund for her if you're interested HERE or HERE.

Earlier this, year, a cat in the Coeur d'Alene area was shot with a blow dart. Despite a $5,000 reward being offered from PETA, no one has been arrested in that case.
