SPOKANE, Wash. -

Spokane Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash near the intersection of Cedar and Garland Sunday. Before police arrived they received multiple calls to report that a man had left the scene of the wreck.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. Police say Garland was closed briefly between Cedar St. and Hawthorne St. while officers conducted their investigation, interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence.

Police say the driver of the red sedan, which was reported stolen, ran from the scene of the crash Sunday afternoon. That person is still on the run. The stolen Chevy Impala was traveling north on Cedar when it ran a stop sign and hit a Toyota SUV headed east.

The SUV was hit and flipped over, landing on its top in a neighbor's yard. The pregnant driver in the SUV was taken to the hospital. Her injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

Officers checked the man who ran but couldn't track him down. An alert citizen snapped a photo of the man has he ran away. He is described as 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and about 180 lbs to 200 lbs. He was wearing tan cargo shorts, a black beanie and no shirt with a large tattoo on his shoulder.
