SPOKANE, Wash. -

A couple of Spokane Police officers went above and beyond Tuesday evening when they saw a homeless man on the street corner near Dutch Bros on Division.

The two officers were reportedly driving down Division when they spotted the homeless man and went into Zips to buy him some food. Jamie Higgins saw it happen while she was eating with a friend and snapped some photos. She wrote a post on Facebook explaining what she saw.

"[W]e see two cops walk out with their food and start walking across the parking lot towards dutch bros. First we think they are going to go sit at the table outside on the corner and eat, then they pass it walking to the corner where there is a homeless man sitting with a sign. The food was for him," Higgins wrote.

Spokane Police tweeted a photo as well, identifying one of the officers as Officer Ben Maplethorpe.

Higgins continues in her post,  "How many of you do something like that? You only hear bad things about cops on Facebook that's why I posting this reminding you not all cops are unfair or mean. We did think they were going to ask him to leave but we were so surprised by this act of kindness we hopped out the car just to get a better look." she wrote. "Sad to think we are surprised to see kindness because we expect selfishness in the works every day."

Since she shared the photos and the story Tuesday night, her post has been shared nearly 300 times.

Good work, Officer Maplethorpe and SPD!

KHQ.COM - Most mothers can only hope by the time their children grow up and move out of the house, they've learned all the necessary things to be a successful adult, including the basic knowledge that a turkey must be cooked in an oven, or perhaps in a smoker... NOT in a microwave. For this reason a new prank-challenge going around on Facebook is resulting in some hilarious text conversations between mothers and their grown children.

MILTON, W.V. - Go home raccoons, you're rabid…… I mean, drunk. A police department in West Virginia received multiple calls regarding rabid raccoons earlier this week. Turns out the raccoons happened to be simply drunk on fermented crabapples. Milton PD says they caught one of the alleged rabid raccoons Sunday with the help of the city street department, while another was caught on Monday with community assistance.

Borrowers often come out ahead ? but do the math to make sure. If you found a $100 bill on the sidewalk, you’d probably pick it up. Yet many car and RV owners overlook the chance to pocket cash by refinancing their vehicle loans at a lower rate. Credit unions, banks, and other lenders compete for vehicle loans by regularly offering refinancing deals that cost you almost nothing. Some lenders offer cash back (typically a percentage of your refinanced loan) or other incentives....
