Brown says he was simply out for a jog when the crash happened Brown says he was simply out for a jog when the crash happened
SPOKANE, Wash. -

The man arrested Tuesday night by Spokane Police in connection to a weekend hit and run, which injured a pregnant woman, told KHQ he didn't do it.

44-year-old David Brown told KHQ's Hayley Guenthner from the Spokane County Jail on Wednesday that he was near the crash when it happened, but he wasn't driving, and he certainly wasn't in the car. In fact, he said he was simply jogging by the crash on one of his normal jogging routes.

When asked about the picture that witnesses say they took of Brown fleeing the area after the crash, Brown said he was simply jogging by, saw the crash and tried to help. Brown even said he smile (or smirked) and flexed for the person taking the picture of him.

Brown said he saw "some black dude or Puerto Rican" get out of the stolen car and flee the scene. He said he tried to get help

On Tuesday, police say they got a tip that the man was staying in a house in the area of Maple and York in Northwest Spokane. Officers surrounded the house Tuesday evening, got a search warrant and used a K9 unit to search the house where they found him hiding.

Brown faces charges of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Possession of a controlled substance.
