SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -

A paper deliverer turns into a crime fighter when he was on his normal paper route and saw someone who had broken into a car getting away.

This happened Tuesday morning around 5:00. Jeff Collins drives a lot in Spokane Valley for Uber and also to deliver papers.

“We've had too many car prowlers on our route,” Collins says.

He calls in any suspicious activity but has never actually caught someone in action. It all happened on Riverside off of Adams in the Valley. One of Collins’s customers was chasing a man on a bike.

“He said he had just been ripped off. His car had been broken into,” Collins says.

That’s when Collins decided to act.

“The anger that someone broke into somebody's car. I don't like thieves,” he says.

The chase went for several blocks. Collins even used his car to block the suspected car prowler. The man ran into his car. Collins now has scratches and some dents where the bike hit on his car.

“There's a dent where I think he hit his head on,” Collins says.

The chase continued until police arrested in a cul-de-sac.

Jeff isn't too worried about the damage to his car.

“Small price to pay to get a car prowler off the streets,” he says.

He has a warning for any other criminal.

“If you come on my paper route I'm going to catch you. Go back home, it’s safer.”

PULLMAN, Wash. - Six-year-old Denny Curran should be enjoying his last few days of summer before first grade. He should be teasing his brother, splashing in the pool, giving his parents a hard time about vegetables. Instead, Denny is dead, the victim of a horrific, freak bicycle accident that could happen to your child too. "Denny was an extraordinary child," his father Keith Curran told KHQ.

SPOKANE, Wash. - It was July of 1989. A man's beaten body was found floating near the Nine Mile dam. Years and years have passed with no leads on the case. That's because investigators do not have the most crucial piece of evidence, his name. The man was someone's son, likely a friend, a neighbor. Someone out there has to be wondering what happened to him.
