SPOKANE, Wash. -

Update: In an e-mail, Communications Director Brian Coddington corrected Pat Dalton’s title to be Assistant City Attorney, not Assistant City Administrator.

Previous coverage: In a press release sent by the City of Spokane, the city shared a statement by Assistant City Administrator Pat Dalton regarding the investigative report regarding the resignation of former Police Chief Frank Straub. That statement reads as follows:

“While I have not had time yet to read the report, I understand that there are various assertions that this Office was somehow directed by others to delay the review or release of public records, for political reasons.

To the best of my knowledge, at no time during my review of records pursuant to various public records requests did Mayor Condon, City Administrator Sanders, City Attorney Isserlis, or Communications Director Coddington ever suggest, ask, or direct that I or anyone else in this Office delay our review process for any reason.  None of these individuals has ever suggested, asked, or directed me to perform any aspect of my job in any particular way for political purposes; nor have I ever done so.”

I'm more of a dog person, but if there is a place that is willing to pay me to live on an island in Greece and take care of cats, I'll become a feline fanatic.  Well, there is someone offering such a job right now and they claim it's a real opening.  God's Little People Cat Rescue posted on Facebook that they are looking for someone who can look after 55 cats on a little Greek island paradise called Syros.
