SPOKANE, Wash. -

Don't hike alone. Those are words of caution from one Spokane woman after an interesting experience near the woods. "I had a bad feeling about this situation," she said.

It was a bad feeling that she just couldn't shake. She goes exercising on a daily basis with her three dogs but what happened the other day in Campion Park was just strange. "It was an uncomfortable situation," she said.

She was approached by a woman who wanted help with jump starting her car but she was immediately suspicious.

"There was no car visible and I know this area enough that there's no way that you can get a car through the brushed area," she said.

After she thought everything was over, a man came up to her. "He approached me and I just told them I didn't know them and I wasn't going to into any area," she said.

They stayed with her for 30 minutes. "The woman did request getting into my car and using my charger for her phone which I declined," she said.

She's glad she didn't go anywhere with them because of how quiet it is in the area. "Had I been naive enough or one of those people who are very, very trusting, you never know."

Police always say if something doesn't seem right, call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.

PULLMAN, Wash. - Six-year-old Denny Curran should be enjoying his last few days of summer before first grade. He should be teasing his brother, splashing in the pool, giving his parents a hard time about vegetables. Instead, Denny is dead, the victim of a horrific, freak bicycle accident that could happen to your child too. "Denny was an extraordinary child," his father Keith Curran told KHQ.

Police say at least one person has died and officers responded to almost 20 other calls of people acting erratically. Police are looking into whether there is a drug on the street that is "creating adverse health effects."
