SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -

A late night high speed chase caused a lot of commotion in Spokane Valley Friday.

The chase ended in a crash near Highway 27 and Blake Road. Police say the driver rammed into a police patrol car, but police were able to stop him with spike strips.

The chase started when a deputy tried pulling over a reckless driver near the intersection of Bessie and Cataldo. The driver took off as deputies gave chase, with speeds reaching 70 miles per hour.

After the suspect car was stopped, the driver ran away, but K0 Laslo was able to take the man into custody.

The truck driven in the chase was stolen recently from a rental business in Spokane Valley. The driver is now facing several charges.

That situation led local law enforcement to have some fun at his expense. Last week, the Pasco Sheriff's Office (not Pasco, Wash.) pulled over the man, who was dressed as Fred Flintstone and driving a smart car turned Flintmobile.
