RIO DE JANEIRO -

Ellis Hill's son, Darrell Hill, is in Rio to compete in the shot put competition for Team USA. Ellis wasn't planning on making the trip to from Philadelphia cheer on his son because he just couldn't afford it. That is until the retired bus driver and Uber driver picked up Liz Willock for a ride.

During their trip together, Ellis told Liz that her son was an Olympian, and when Liz asked whether he would be travelling to see Darrell in person, he said he couldn't make it. But Liz wanted to change that. Willock reportedly works for concierge service that arranges travel and accommodations for people seeking clinical trials around the world. She felt she had the connections to make a trip happen for Ellis.

Then she set up a GoFundMe page to raise $7,500 for Ellis' trip and the donations poured in. After two days, the goal was reached. There was even one donation of more than $1,000. About 150 people donated to the campaign in total.

Now, thanks to one chance encounter, Ellis is in Rio to cheer on his son. Darrell Hill is scheduled to compete on Thursday, August 18.

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. - A man in Florida apparently went all out for Halloween with an impressive Flintstone get up, and wanted to keep enjoying it. That situation led local law enforcement to have some fun at his expense. Last week, the Pasco Sheriff's Office (not Pasco, Wash.) pulled over the man, who was dressed as Fred Flintstone and driving a smart car turned Flintmobile.

Spokane Valley, Wash. It's not the first time the intersection of 8th Avenue and Carnahan Rd. has been in the news.
