KHQ.com -

These days it seems like whenever something captures the Internet's attention, it's only a matter of time before someone takes it too far and gets a tattoo of the recent cultural phenomenon. You may remember this happening after the 2015 Super Bowl when a Denver man got a Left Shark tattoo, or when a tattoo shop in Vermont gave out these Bernie Sanders tattoos for free

Now that we're deep in the heart of the Rio Olympic Games, one thing has grabbed international headlines. We are of course referring to the "Phelps Face."

Since the cameras caught Phelps mean mugging to rival Chad le Clos before the 200m butterfly semi-final, Phelps Face has become an instant meme. And as with all memes, it's not truly complete until someone gets a tattoo.

Enter Chronic Ink in Toronto, Canada. On Friday, tattoo artist Livia Tsang posted a photo of a glorious black and white portrait of the Phelps scowl on her Instagram page with the caption, "And then my boss let me tattoo Michael Phelps on him."

Phelps' final race before retirement is Saturday. He leads off the butterfly leg of the 400m medley relay.
