Accused killer in Spokane Valley double murder has lengthy criminal past

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -

A community is in shock after a double homicide in Spokane Valley. Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies are on the hunt for 44-year-old Gilberto Delgado, who they believe is responsible for the crime.

Delgado is from the Pocatello area and has a lengthy, violent criminal past, according to investigators.

KHQ looked into records and found Delgado was scheduled to be released from jail in October 2019, recently got out on parole in October 2015. He was serving time for an aggravated assault case.

Delgado has also been arrested before for a battery-domestic violence case. Caldwell Police tell KHQ that he had an argument with a woman he had a child with, and pushed and shoved her back in 2007.

Here’s more of his past from the Idaho Department of Corrections:

5/31/1996 Power County – Sentenced to 1 year to 3 years for injury to a child

8/04/1998 Power County – Sentenced to 2 years to 5 years for escape

8/22/2008 Ada County – Sentenced to 2 years to 7 years for grand theft by possession

9/09/2010 Power County – Sentenced to 5 years for escape

9/09/2010 Power County – Sentenced to 6 years to 10 years for aggravated assault

10/29/2010 Ada County – Sentenced to 2 years to 7 years for grand theft by possession

Investigators are actively looking for Delgado, and they say he is armed and dangerous. If you see him or know where he is, call 911 immediately.

PULLMAN, Wash. - Six-year-old Denny Curran should be enjoying his last few days of summer before first grade. He should be teasing his brother, splashing in the pool, giving his parents a hard time about vegetables. Instead, Denny is dead, the victim of a horrific, freak bicycle accident that could happen to your child too. "Denny was an extraordinary child," his father Keith Curran told KHQ.
