ODESSA, Wash. -

The Odessa community is torn after the loss of a man they say knew everyone. Pastor Tim Hauge from the Christ Lutheran Church died after a terrible accident in his own town. The crash happened off highway 21 where troopers say his brakes failed and he hit a building.

"Pastor Tim was a fun person. He had a joke probably for everything. He was there to help anybody," said Laura Estes, a Sunday school teacher and friend of Hauge's.

Hauge has been the pastor at the church since 2002. "If you were having a bad day, he would come in and he'd fix it without even knowing it," said Hannah Sheldon, a church member.

His favorite spot? "Anywhere here in the church in the house of God. He didn't just stand at the pulpit, he was up and down the aisles. He might forget his sermon notes and fly out the door then come back in with them," said Estes.

The 55-year-old wasn't just known at church, he was a school bus driver and an EMT. "He loved everything that he did," said Kelsey Scrupps, Hauge's daughter. Scrupps says he loved music, sports and motocross.

Pastor Hauge leaves behind three kids and a loving wife. "He was the best dad. It's going to be hard to go on without him," said Scrupps.

There will be a service in Odessa on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church. It is open to the public.

PULLMAN, Wash. - Six-year-old Denny Curran should be enjoying his last few days of summer before first grade. He should be teasing his brother, splashing in the pool, giving his parents a hard time about vegetables. Instead, Denny is dead, the victim of a horrific, freak bicycle accident that could happen to your child too. "Denny was an extraordinary child," his father Keith Curran told KHQ.
