Fire east of Leavenworth burns at least 330 acres

LEAVENWORTH, Wash. -

Update August 28, 2016 10:00 am:

Chelan County Emergency Management says a fire burning a few miles east of Leavenworth has burned at least 330 acres as of Sunday morning. State mobilization has also been approved for the fire, known as the Suncrest Fire, which means resources from across the state will be arriving on the scene to help fight the fire.

At last report the Suncrest fire was about 25 percent contained.

Firefighters worked through the night to battle the flames and are continuing to work Sunday to get the fire under control.

There have been no reports of structures lost and no injuries reported.

Evacuations remain in place Sunday.

Local fire crews are battling a large brush fire in the Leavenworth area Saturday evening near the town Peshastin.

The fire broke out around 3:30 p.m. Chelan County Emergency Management reports evacuation orders are in place and 75 residents are under level 3 evacuations as of Saturday night.

The town of Peshastin west to Anderson Canyon, includes Alpine View Estates on Chumstick is under level 1 evacuation orders.

The south side of North Rd. from Fox Rd. to Anderson Canyon is under a level 2 evacuation, meaning residents should be ready to leave at a moment's notice.

Level 3 evacuations in effect on the north side of North Rd. from Fox Rd. to Anderson Canyon, meaning residents in that area should leave as soon as possible.

    An official says multiple people have been killed in a shooting Harford County, Maryland.    The law enforcement official has knowledge of the shooting but wasn't authorized to discuss details by name and spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press.    The Harford County Sheriff's Office tweeted that there was a shooting Thursday morning in the Perryman area that involves "multiple victims."
