SPOKANE, Wash. -

Today is the day! The day when we elect the 45th President of the United States and KHQ has you covered everywhere today!

Our coverage begins at 2:30pm and like a good summer BBQ goes until... ??? At 2:30, KHQ will have a 1-hour show, and then toss it over to NBC for Nightly news at 3:30pm. 

At 4:00pm, you're going to find NBC Network coverage until 10:55pm, with local updates with KHQ at :25 and :55 past the hour. (You can watch those in the video player above)

We will also be doing a special show on SWX for regional election coverage from 8:00pm to 9:00pm. (You can also watch those in the video player above)

From 10:00pm - 10:35pm, catch more regional coverage on FOX First at Ten, followed by more local election coverage on KHQ from 11:00pm to 11:35pm. 

Barring any major breaking news, local or nationally, that's where our election coverage on-air ends until Wednesday morning on KHQ's Wake Up Show beginning at 4:30am. However, throughout the day and night on Tuesday and Wednesday, look updates from KHQ.com via push alerts (download the KHQ app to receive alerts) on your mobile device and live updates on our Facebook page. 

We will have crews spread out across Spokane, north Idaho and Washington State covering the election tonight, and you can get the latest updates from those crews by following them on their Twitter and Facebook pages:

    DODSON, Mont. - Two people were injured in Montana Wednesday morning after swerving to avoid a kangaroo on the road.  Trooper Matt Finley with the Montana Highway Patrol said he thought it was a joke when he responded to the call, but when he arrived at about 4 a.m. he saw the kangaroo.  Trooper Finley said he learned there is a kangaroo farm west of Dodson.

The News Tribune reports 54-year-old Robin Cline pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court in Tacoma to charges of wire fraud.  Cline of Puyallup worked at Costco in Fife from 1996 to 2016 as an accounts receivable clerk.     A Spokane business owner says enough is enough after finding human feces in front of her doorstep three days in a row. The incidences happened at Neat Old Stuff located at 3rd and Bernard. The shop's owner, CP Phare, has been in the same location for the last decade and says suspicious activity has ramped up in the last year, but nothing like what's been happening over the last few days. "There's like surprise packages usually two-to-three times a week,"

(AP) - Washington and more than a half-dozen other states say they plan to sue the Trump administration over a policy that separated immigrant families illegally entering the United States.    Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson made the announcement Thursday outside a federal prison in the city of SeaTac, south of Seattle, where about 200 immigration detainees have been transferred - including women separated from their children.

(AP) - Montana wildlife officials are releasing new details about last month's bear attack against a government researcher.    Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials said Amber Kornak surprised a grizzly after walking within 12 feet (4 meters) of the bear in the Cabinet Mountains on May 17.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Legendary punk rock band D.O.A. is asking for the Spokane community to keep an eye out after the band's van was broken into during a show at The Pin over the weekend.  D.O.A. was founded in 1977 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and is considered one of the founders of the hardcore punk subgenre of music, along with other mainstays like Bad Brains and Black Flag.
