Highway 2 just N. of Chattaroy back open after rollover crash

KHQ.COM - Early Wednesday morning, the northbound lanes of Newport Highway (Highway 2) just N. of Chattaroy were blocked near Bear Lake at N. Findley Rd. due to a rollover crash. 

Washington State Patrol Troopers say the driver of the vehicle fell asleep behind the wheel causing his car to leave the roadway and roll. They say he was not under the influence. Both the driver and the passenger sustained injuries and although their injuries are not life threatening, the passenger was taken to the hospital.

Officers arrived and found 21-year-old Hilinski deceased in the apartment with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
