COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -

Idaho State Police say a 68-year-old man has died after leaving the roadway on Highway 95 south of Coeur d'Alene early Saturday morning.

Investigators say the crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. A blue 2005 Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by Frank M. Reeves of Otis Orchards was headed north on Highway 95 when he left the roadway for an unknown reason. Reeves was trying to turn his truck around when he lost control, sliding backward down a steep embankment and coming to rest up against a tree.

ISP says Reeves got out of his truck and was found down an embankment northeast of his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers say Reeves was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
