CHENEY, Wash. -

Today friends, family, and co-workers took time to remember 33-year-old Rachael Parker. Reverend Happy Watkins officiated the memorial service at Cheney Middle School and said Rachael had a heart of gold "She was a gifted kindhearted, caring person."

Rachael was at the Route 91 Concert. A three-day country music event in Las Vegas. Rachael attended the concert with four other off-duty employees of the Manhattan Beach Police Department until shots rang out from the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Hundreds were injured, and dozens including Rachael were killed.

Rachael attended Cheney High School and graduated in 2002.  She attended Eastern Washington University before moving to Long Beach, California where she served as a records technician at the Manhattan Beach Police Department. She was known as the "matron" of the police department's front desk "She treated people the same no matter how they were brought in under what conditions or rude or ugly they may have been she treated them with a smile a gifted smile," said Watkins

Rachael loved her family and had a passion for animals. She had two dogs in which she rescued herself and would always try to help others in need.  "If she left anything take care of people treat people kind," Watkins added.
