SPRINGDALE, Wash. -

The Mary Walker School District sent a message to families Monday assuring them school would be open and classes would be held Tuesday after a threat closed the school Monday.

A student made general threats against the district "via electronic communication," which the district turned over to the Stevens County Sheriff's Office. The school district reported Monday evening that the student who made the threats has been apprehended and taken into custody.

Mary Walker School District has planned a community forum for Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the high school auditorium with representatives from the sheriff's office and the prosecutor's office to address the public and answer any questions.
